Rod and Linda Grabau
Oh, what a night! We had an overwhelming response to sign up for Tuscany Falls Golf Cart Caroling this year. There were 151 PebbleCreekers who went golf cart caroling in Tuscany Falls on December 5. That is 68 golf carts, split up into five groups! We brought Christmas joy to 35 Tuscany Falls residents who have lost their spouse, have health issues or just needed some Christmas cheer. Leaders of the five groups were Rod and Linda Grabau, Jerry and Sue White, Doug and Jerri Christensen, Don and Di Week and Mark and Kathy Gorchesky. A big thank you to the guitar players that joined each group of carolers. They were Carl Halladay, Robert Hover, John Flynn and Ed Wahl. One of the caroling groups even had a saxophone player, Mark Gorchesky, and an accordion player, Bill Greenhoot. All of these talented musicians added a special touch to the caroling and made us all sound really good! Plates of Christmas goodies were given to each home we visited. The residents’ expressions of gratitude and singing along with the carolers are what make it so worthwhile.
The After Caroling Party, co-chaired by Kathy Gorchesky and Susie Nee, was held in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom with 120 carolers attending. As a way to give back to the community, the carolers filled an SUV with 340 pounds (280 items) of food that was donated to the St. Mary’s Food Bank! After enjoying the Italian Buffet, there was a 50-50 raffle drawing and $260 was donated to the Agua Fria Food Bank! The great food, festive atmosphere, comments from the carolers about their experiences and 50-50 raffle were a wonderful ending to a memorable day of bringing joy to our neighbors.
