On February 28, 350 elegantly dressed ladies gathered for a scrumptious lunch, a gorgeous spring fashion show provided by Dillard’s and our 43 raffled gift baskets. This was TTT Chapter Q’s third annual fashion show and luncheon to raise money to send deserving fourth grade girls to camp. Because of the generosity of these 350 ladies, we are sending eight lucky girls to camp this summer! We are thrilled and thank you all so very much for supporting our fundraiser.
The next few months will be very busy as we prepare our eight girls for summer camp. On April 9 the ladies of TTT Chapter Q will go equipment shopping for our girls. This will include all toiletries, sleeping bag, a camera, sheets, towels and even a stuffed animal to cuddle at night among many other things.
On April 30 we will hold a shower for our girls and their families. We’ll all enjoy socializing, pizza and soda and the girls will be shown all the equipment we have bought for their camping experience. Then on May 6 we will take our girls clothing shopping for their week of camp and outfit them from head to toe. This is the time that they really get excited about their upcoming camp experience, since the focus is on them and they can pick out and try on clothes they would like to wear at camp.
They will be going to the Willow Springs Girl Scout Camp in Prescott the week of June 14. We take them to the bus, give them everything we have bought for them and off they go very excited and a little nervous since it is their first time away from home. When we pick them up at the end of the week, it is wonderful to see the smiles and hear how much they loved their camp experience.
On July 25 we will have a welcome back party for them and their families at a local restaurant and hear more about camp and see their pictures. Know that you have made a positive impact on a young girl’s life by supporting us and showing these girls how special they are.
