’Tis the Season … All Year Long!

We have a unique gem in our communityThe Expressions Gallery in the Creative Arts Center. If you haven’t been there, you’re missing out on a special shopping experience. Resident artists and crafters offer beautiful handmade pieces for sale all year, and on Dec. 6, vendors, including the PebbleCreek Quilters club (PCQ), will pull out all the stops for the annual Holiday Fest.

Brenda Weide, PCQ liaison to the Gallery, says, “We look forward to the Holiday Fest every year, but this year, we’re excited to offer brand new items, including craft aprons, holiday napkins, plate cozies, luggage tags, and more. Of course, we’ll have the ever-popular bucket hats, placemats, table runners, table toppers, and so on in the Gallery that day, too.” She notes that the group will offer more quilts for sale this year. “We are, after all, the PebbleCreek Quilters!” she says.

PCQ club members donate time, talent, and material to create gorgeous and useful items, and net proceeds support the club’s efforts for charities such as Hospice of the Valley, Magdalene House, SW Family Advocacy Center, and Luke Air Force Base. “We are very lucky to have this opportunity to sell items to residents and visitors to support our club’s mission. Our members are so creative and their work is topnotch. Prices are competitive, and you’ll always find something new.”

Weide welcomes residents’ suggestions on items to sell. She says a limited survey last year led to the creation of some new items, such as bigger tote bags. Contact her at BrendaWeide@icloud.com.

The PebbleCreek Quilters is open to all residents who love to sew, quilt, and share their skills and talents. We offer classes and workshops and support local charities. If you have an interest in quilting, helping others through quilting, or socializing with other quilters, we welcome you. Annual dues include access to all classes and use of the facility and quilting equipment. To join, visit our website at pebblecreekquilters.org or call Barbara McMahon at 412-979-8562.
