The Women’s Giving Circle had a wonderful fall meeting on Sept. 28 to kick off a year of meaningful, fun-filled activities. We had many potential and new club members join our returning members at the meeting. There were several speakers who presented a great deal of diversified information to the group.

Thank you to Terri Sellers for her extremely informative talk about Alzheimer’s and the challenges the disease presents to caregivers and patients. We are proud to announce that The Women’s Giving Circle had a team that walked in the West Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s in October. In December we’ll report on our fundraising efforts for this important organization.

Once again, thank you to Kathy Cheek for demonstrating her process for making mats for the homeless using clean, recycled plastic bags that are usually tossed out.

Looking forward … excitement is building for the second annual Date with a Plate (DWP) event that will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, in the Chianti Room. Get ready to tour the stunning tables that will be on display, created by very talented, artistic PebbleCreek (PC) residents. Our goal is to raise over $7,000 for the Agua Fria Food Bank that distributes food and clothing to our West Valley neighbors who are in need. Tickets will be on sale at the Eagle’s Nest kiosk. Due to space limitations, only 175 tickets will be available to purchase. Tickets will be sold on:

* Monday, Dec. 4, 9 to 11 a.m.

* Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

* Tuesday, Dec. 12, 9 to 11 a.m.

* Thursday, Dec. 14, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

In addition to the extraordinary tablescapes that will be on display for you to admire, there will be a wonderful Silent Auction, coordinated by Marianne Boechler, consisting of fantastic items donated by PC residents.

If you are interested in creating your very own tablescape for the DWP event, please contact Mary Wiese at [email protected] to sign up.
