Accomplished Christian leader and speaker Rod Handley will give a dynamic presentation on the “Power of Prayer” on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. The event is presented by the PebbleCreek Community Church. Music will be provided by Pastor Nate Watkins and his worship team. All PebbleCreekers are invited to attend.
Rod is the Founder and President of the Christian ministry, “Character that Counts,” established in 2000. Rod speaks across the nation about character, integrity, and accountability issues. He has written more than 40 books, including, “Character Counts: Who’s Counting Yours?,” and a nine-volume book series on the “Fruit of the Spirit,” which was published in June 2025.
Rod was the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) “Huddle Leader” for the athletic teams of the University of Washington from 1982-1989. He went on to serve on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Kansas City, including 11 years as their COO/CFO. He also served as chaplain for the Kansas City Royals (1995-2009) and the Seattle Super Sonics (1986-1989). He has spoken at hundreds of chapel services for a number of NBA, NFL, and MLB teams, as well as serving as chaplain for the Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Super Sonics.
Rod and his wife Janna live in Lee’s Summit, Mo., and have four children (ages 24 to 31) and three grandchildren. This will be the third time Rod has spoken here in PebbleCreek over the years, and each time to a packed venue. We are pleased Rod is able to come back with a new message for us here in PebbleCreek!
