The PebbleCreek Democratic Club Is Looking Ahead!

Although of course we were disappointed with the election results, PebbleCreek (PC) Democrats have never been ones to moan and criticize! We are looking ahead not only to 2025 but all the way to the midterm elections in 2026. In politics, there is always something going on and something to work toward.

In 2026, Arizonans will be voting for Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Treasurer, Superintendent of Public Instruction, as well as members of the State Legislature. In addition all nine Congressional Districts will be electing or re-electing their Representatives. The PC Democratic Club has encouraged and supported many candidates who are now in office in our state. In 2025 we will begin planning how to best support Democratic candidates, should they elect to run again or if they are new to the race. Our members have always been tireless and energetic with their support for candidates up and down the ballot, and 2026 will be no exception.

First, however, we will have our own elections for club president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. Most importantly, in January we are seeking a member at large to serve on the board. We ask all members to consider taking on this responsibility and volunteering to put their name forward for this post. Nominations can be made to Vicki Barber, our club president, anytime before the January 2025 meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Lastly, our speaker at our first meeting of 2025 will be Heather Macre, a board member of the Central Arizona Water Conservation District (CAWCD). Ms. Macre, a twoterm member of the CAWCD board was re-elected in the November 2024 election to serve another six-year term. Water is an extremely important issue for our state and the CAWCD serves a crucial role in how we obtain, manage, and distribute this precious resource to both industry and the public. Ms. Macre has a wealth of experience with water conservation and we are eager to hear how the issue is being managed both now and in the future.

The January PC Democratic Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8 in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. This is a departure from our usual meeting date of the first Wednesday of the month due to that day falling on New Years Day. Social hour starts at 6 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7 p.m. Our meetings are open and all are welcome.
