Despite the heat, the PebbleCreek Pickleball Club’s Fourth of July celebration went off with a bang! Approximately 200 members donning red, white, and blue attended the event. This is an annual potluck breakfast that the players look forward to. There was a plethora of delectable, delicious, delightful food for all. The courts were filled with Open Play, Drop In, and plenty of fun games to entice all levels of play! The music playlist provided by Indy Rebhun added to the fun atmosphere.
Kathy Mendel, one of our spunkiest pickleball club members, conducted some awesome games for the attendees. They were to hit the pickleball crown target, get their drop shot into a bucket, and dink the ball into the corn hole. A player hitting any of the targets received a raffle ticket for a drawing at the end of the morning’s activities. Speaking of the end of the activities, it was a hot morning, so a water balloon toss was offered for anyone that wanted to get wet and cool off. What a fun idea!
Indy Rebhun commented on the morning activities, “These were great drills—not just for fun.” Brenda Miner said, “The games were so creative and fun and such a wonderful challenge for skills. It really made me realize that these would be great to have on a regular basis. Great tie–in for a carnival atmosphere with a pickleball spin.” I know many of the players were eager to try their hand a second and third time at the games because of the fun challenge and the players running the games were so encouraging. As you can see in the pictures, there was plenty of fun to be had! And prizes!
