The Election Road Winds Through PebbleCreek!

The road to the 2022 Midterm Primary Election on Aug. 2 continues to wind through PebbleCreek! Many candidates and their staffs continue to visit with Republican Club members, seeking valuable required signatures on their petitions (often thousands needed) to have their names placed on the Primary ballot. The signature deadline, April 4, is rapidly approaching.

On Thursday, March 3, the club welcomed candidates for Arizona Attorney General Lacy Cooper, a former state and federal prosecutor who focused on border security, and Rodney Glassman, an Air Force JAG Reserve prosecutor and successful attorney. With six Republican attorney general candidates vying for a spot on the ballot in November, this is a hotly contested race!

Darla Gonzalez, Grassroots Director for AZ Free Enterprise Club, and LouAnn Sedgwick, AZ Voter ID Initiative, introduced themselves and outlined their group’s activities in Arizona. Darla will be working with our club on the Request to Speak (RTS) program. LouAnn thanked our club for participating in collecting signatures for the AZ Voter ID Initiative and for helping it pass in the House.

On Saturday, March 19, a bonus meeting included Arizona Attorney General candidate Dawn Grove, a newbie to politics who is an attorney and manufacturing executive (with PING, a third generation Arizona family company). Also speaking with the group was another candidate for attorney general, Abraham (Abe) Hamadeh, an attorney and former prosecutor in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, as well as an intelligence officer in the Army Reserve most recently deployed to Saudi Arabia.

The club’s monthly Men’s Breakfast Club (second Tuesday of the month) and Women’s Luncheon (second Wednesday of the month) gathered in the Eagle’s Nest alcove for great food and lively political conversation.

The club’s “Prayer Warriors” have been resurrected and met for the first time in several months on Monday, March 14, to pray for our country, the world, upcoming elections, and all who volunteer to serve our country.

Remember to keep those American flags proudly flying throughout PebbleCreek!
