Tennis Is in Full Swing

Donna Gillen

The lazy days of summer may be a phrase, but it doesn’t apply to the tennis courts. There are many activities still running strong, just maybe a little earlier in the day or later in the evening.

If you are looking for some great mind and body exercises, look no further. Here’s a list of things to do:

Drop-in Tennis for men can be found on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings at 7:30, Eagle’s Nest courts 1-4. This is for all levels of play. If you have questions, please contact Ken Minichiello at [email protected] or 419-356-4010. Ken is ready to get you out and active, and he’s fun to be with.

Drop-in Tennis for women starts at 7:30 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, Eagle’s Nest courts 1 and 2.

Men’s 3.0-3.5 tennis, coordinated by Doug Stansfield, happens on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All matches are played as sets. The only cost is a minimal amount to pay for new balls as needed. More details can be found by contacting Doug at [email protected]. Courts are TBA each week and starting time this summer is 7 a.m.

Bernadine Helriegel facilitates evening tennis for women. Play this summer will be in June and July (a little break in August). The time is 6:30 p.m. at Eagle’s Nest. Please contact Bernadine at [email protected] to sign up each week and for more information.

The Amigos, led by Charlie Reinert, play Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This is a men’s 3.5 group. Please contact Charlie for more information at [email protected].

Giving Back and Other Activities

Let’s continue to give back to our community by saving your pop tops and bringing them to the Tuscany Falls tennis clubhouse to help children with medical needs. Also, please place your tennis ball pop tops in the baskets at each court (EN and TF). Thank you for your generosity.

One final reminder: please check our website at pebblecreektennis.org for updated information and for any social activities happening this summer.

Let’s be safe and enjoy our time on and off the courts!
