It’s time to play games! Our one time favorite “TV Dinners” return. We have two planned on the horizon.
The first is on Friday, July 7, in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom, when we’ll gather for a Hawaiian buffet dinner (teriyaki chicken, beef satay, rice with pineapple), followed by the game “Lyrical Lyrics.” Your host Melissa Kallett will play 26 songs, and during each, the music will stop, and you’ll need to select the correct “next lyric” from a list of possible four choices … only one of which will be correct. The cost is $32, and tickets went on sale June 20 in the Eagle’s Nest Activities Office. Member charge only. Seats are limited so don’t delay. Gather your friends, or come alone. Get in the spirit of the night by wearing your Aloha attire. Tables seat 8 people. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m., and the game to follow soon after.
The second TV Dinner is on Saturday, Aug. 19, in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom, when we’ll gather again for a Southwestern buffet dinner (tequila lime grilled chicken, ground beef with Spanish rice), followed by the game “Majority Rules”… a favorite on just about every cruise line. Dress accordingly to get in the spirit of the night. In this game, there is no right or wrong answer as the Majority Rules! The cost is $32, with tickets for this dinner going on sale Tuesday, July 25 at 9 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Activities Office. Member charge only. Same guidelines apply, with seats limited, tables of 8, and doors opening at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the game.
We have another Fun Nite on the horizon as well, “A Night of Cornhole in the Ballroom,” on Friday, July 28, in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom at 5 p.m. This is a first in our community, so participation will be limited to 104 people (26 teams) as we test the concept. You can sign up as a 4-man team or a couple. If you are single, snag a friend to join you! The evening will include an indoor picnic followed by timed play of cornhole. It will be round robin play with an ultimate goal to have fun and camaraderie. The cost is $20, with tickets going on sale Tuesday, July 18 at 9 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Activities Office. Member charge only. If all goes as well as anticipated, this will be the first of a recurring event.
These fun-filled evenings are brought to you by your Recreation, Activities, and Food & Beverage departments. They provide a wonderful opportunity to meet some of your fellow summer Creekers, while enjoying a meal and audience participation entertainment.
“It’s all about getting out of the house, meeting new people, eating, and having fun,” says Melissa Kallett, director of recreation and host of the events. “At the end of the night, we hope participants will leave having met new friends, and having had a good laugh from all the fun.”
