Colorado Party—Celebrations

Marilu Trainor and Jerry Maglio

Throughout 2026, the United States will mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independencethe nation’s semiquincentennial. At the same time, Colorado will mark the 150th anniversary of its entrance into the Unionand will be celebrating the state’s sesquicentennial. These combined anniversaries equal the Colorado “Sesquisemiquincentennial.”

That’s complicated to pronounce, so we’re simply calling it the 2026 Colorado Party “Celebrations.” The party will recognize the dual anniversaries during a very festive event at the Tuscany Ballroom on March 7.

Each year, the Colorado Party has earned the reputation as the largest state party and is planned for those who hail from the Centennial state or those fans who simply love everything about Colorado. This party provides an opportunity for us to come together with fellow Coloradans and Americans to celebrate these dual anniversaries.

The ballroom and clubhouse will be transformed into a dynamic party atmosphere. There is a limit of 250 attendees and this party has sold out eight years in a row within a couple of weeks. With more Centennial State residents moving into our community, we anticipate a sold-out attendance within days.

There’s always lots to do at this party. The event starts at 4 p.m. in the Tuscany Ballroom lobby. We start with a one-hour welcome no-host cocktail reception where there will likely be lots of toasts to the state’s anniversary. Attendees will enjoy a great buffet dinner and then the festivities get into high gear when everyone hits the dance floor. The party will feature the ever-popular Rhythm Editions bandan eight-piece ensemble that plays dancing music from all genres. Always a highlight of the party is a colorful photo booth backdrop, this year featuring fireworks to commemorate the theme.

You might ask, “What do you wear to a 150th anniversary party? Because it’s a Colorado party, it is a casual attire event. The popular color choices represent the colors found in the two milestone anniversary flags including: red (for passion), blue (for loyalty), and white (for purity). You might also be inclined to wear some gold symbolizing enduring legacy and celebration found in the center of the state flag. Party attendees are encouraged to wear these colors or anything that represents Colorado or patriotic attire.

Now is the time to start planning tables of 10 guests who want to party together. Registration forms will be available Dec. 23 on community websites to download and complete. On Jan. 5, 2026, registration forms can be dropped off at the party registration site. Further details including pricing and ticket reservation information will be provided in future community updates.
