State Parties – February 2024

Rock and Roll All Night Long

Marilu Trainor

The 2024 Colorado State Party is March 2. Only a few reservations remain for the “Colorado Rocks” party, celebrating the music of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. The event will be held in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.

Reservations are mandatory and are $45 per person. Your party reservation includes an Italian buffet with dessert and a live band for this special evening.

Reservations are logged on a first-paid, first-reserved basis. To obtain a reservation form, contact Cheryl Murphy at 303-378-9901 or [email protected] or Suki Fitzgerald at [email protected]. Completed reservation forms and your check should be mailed or dropped off at 3797 N. 150th Ln. (Eagle’s Nest side) or 16025 W. Windsor Ave. (Tuscany Falls side).

Watch for continuing party announcement information posted in the PebbleCreek egroup and the residents’ Facebook page.

Always a highlight of the biggest state party each year is the “Rocky Mountain Squares.” Attendees can purchase up to four squares per person starting at 4 p.m. More than $3,000 in prizes will be awarded to the winners of the drawing. Prizes will include airline tickets, gift coupons, and more.

The registered names will be on a badge waiting for you to pick up when you enter the Tuscany lobby and printed tickets will not be provided in advance. Your check for your registration will be deposited no earlier than March 1. If you register too late, you will be notified, and your check will be shredded.

The “That’ll Be the Day” schedule includes:

* A couple of classic cars will be outside the ballroom at 3:45 p.m. for you to snap a selfie before entering the party.

* Badges will be available at 4 p.m. in the Tuscany Ballroom lobby.

* No-host/cash bar starts at 4 p.m.

* Tickets are available at 4 p.m. for “Rocky Mountain Squares.” Squares are $5 each, limit four squares per person. Great prizes for the winners.

* Doors open to the ballroom at 4:30 p.m. It’s open seating.

* “That’s Amore”—dinner will be served from 5-6:15 p.m.

* “Let’s Dance” to “Good Vibrations” and the many sounds of the Rhythm Edition Band from 6:15 until 8:45 p.m. The group will play popular tunes of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.

* Look at your old yearbooks for ideas to come in costume of the decades or “Take It Easy” and be casual or wear Colorado clothing.

* Many surprises await the party goers including a new format photo booth.

“It’s Gonna Work Out Fine” if you make your reservations early—don’t delay so you can say “I’ll be there!” If you have questions, please contact Michele Conroy at 970-685-7702 or Cheryl Murphy at 303-378-9901.

Hoosiers, Start Your Engines for the 2024 Indiana Party!

“The Greatest Spectacle” in partying will be held Thursday, March 21 in the Chianti Room at the Tuscany Falls clubhouse. This year’s theme is the Indianapolis 500, so get out your black and white and/or your checkered outfits! Judi Johnson will be sending out detailed information (times, cost, registration info, etc.) to our database in the next couple of weeks, so be on the lookout. Once registration opens there will only be 110 seats. Register early—don’t get “bumped” out of a seat. If you know of any Hoosiers who missed last year, please have them send Judi their contact information. Lots of 500 fun and trivia is being planned, so mark your calendars and “rev” up for a good time!

Please send an email to the organizers at [email protected] if you plan to attend. Also, if you can volunteer to help that day, let us know that, too. Please help spread the word, and watch for more information on the egroup.

Oregonians, Mark Your Calendars!

Judy Hart

Oregonians, former Oregonians, or anyone who can correctly pronounce OREGON—this is your chance to get together! PebbleCreek’s annual Oregon State Picnic will be Sunday, March 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Sunrise Park.

This spring event has been going on for nearly 20 years, and it’s been a great opportunity to renew existing acquaintances and make new friends. Every year old friends discover each other—people from the same neighborhood in Portland, former classmates from Roseburg High school, OSU and UO alums. There is no charge for attendance, and Oregon ID is not required. There’s no better way to find “old” friends than at your annual PebbleCreek Oregon State Picnic!

As in years past, bring your own chair, your own beverage, and an appetizer to share. Plates, utensils, and napkins will be provided. Find your place in the shade, hang out with friends, and prepare for the Annual Oregon Trivia Challenge!

Questions? Call Dennis and Cathy Howell at 623-535-7686 or Ross and Judy Hart at 541-747-4821.
