Hallelujah! Twist ‘n Shout! The PebbleCreek Singles closed the door on 2017 and another exciting year burst its way through!
The three new board members: Jolly Jodie Heinz, Veep; Sincere Sue Branton, Treasurer and Delightful David Shaffner, Activities Director take their new places, with the current incumbents, Fun-Loving Frank Rodgers, President; Jubilant Joyce Van Ornam, Secretary and Solicitous Shawnee Robison, Publicity Director to continue bringing us the great activities and funtabulous events lined up for 2018!
The board members and the singles would like to send out a very serious thank you to the three board members stepping down: Kathy Weldon, Activities Director (two years); Deanna McKeowan, Secretary (one year) and Judy Ashley, Treasurer (one year) for their time, talents and treasures they so willingly and graciously bestowed upon us these last two years!
In case, you haven’t heard about the PC Singles Club, here’s a quick bird’s-eye view! We are a diversified group of single adults (permanent residents, homeowners, renters, and snowbirds). We are 227 strong now after 20 years here in PC! We’re also a non-profit organization that gives back to our community by sponsoring different charities every year, like The Homeless Youth Connection, Country Fighters Foundation at Luke AFB, the American Cancer Society, Battered Women’s Shelter and the Aqua Fria Food Bank (to name a few). We’re currently voting on our next charity to support for 2018!
If you’re not fond of wasting your days and nights of this new year, come and enjoy not only making new friends, but maybe getting some fresh air while hiking, playing Bocce Ball or golfing. You can also keep busy catching a movie, lunching with new members or dining out with new friends in different venues once a month. The fun continues with opportunities to attend local concerts and plays or learn new card games, like Hand Knee and Foot, Phase One, UNO – you can even jump on the Mexican Train! You’ll find yourself having so much fun, you’ll be counting the days and minutes until it’s time for you to go to the next event or activity! It’s only a mere pittance of $15 yearly to join us and have the time of your life! (You can join online.)
Or, simply float on over to the next meeting in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom on the first Sunday of the month at 2:00 p.m. when the doors open and sign-ups begin for new members like you, at 2:15. Then, at 2:30, all the rest of the members and their guests sign up for upcoming activities and events! The main attraction begins promptly at 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., followed by a short jaunt across the yellow brick road to the long drive lounge for a swig or two of your favorite libation and a dash of comradery until it’s time to hustle on down to a pre-determined venue for a Dutch treat dinner!
