Now that summer is in full swing, there is no shortage of activities for the Singles Club in PebbleCreek. Most recently the Singles enjoyed a social evening at the TV Dinner/Game Night held in the Tuscany Ballroom. It’s hosted by Melissa Kallett, director of Recreation and Fitness, here in PebbleCreek. TV Game Night requires participation by the entire audience whereby players are selected to play and be judged by friends and neighbors who are in attendance. The most recent format was a talent show. Anyone who was willing could show off their many talents and claim a coveted prize. The PC Singles summer schedule features many fun and social events. On the agenda is another TV Dinner/Game Night, the Eddie Basha Gallery, the Musical Instrument Museum, the Arizona Culinary Institute and a Comedy Night-Stir Crazy.
Friendship and purpose are said to be two of the most important factors in aging successfully. Many of the single men and women in PebbleCreek have discovered this to be true. It leads to a more positive and optimistic outlook on life. Many lasting friendships have been formed by working together on committees to plan special events and/or by participating in the monthly core activities which include brunch and a movie, bocce, Pictionary, game nights, bowling, golf, happy hour, karaoke, Friday night pool socials and dinner at local restaurants. Their purpose is often found in being a part of the club’s social and recreational activities and also in their commitment to give back to the community by supporting various charitable organizations. Each year a beneficiary is selected and voted on by the club’s general membership. During the current year, the group has chosen the New Life Center for women and children. In addition to making personal contributions, they support the 25/25/50 drawings at the regular monthly meetings.
The PC Singles is a social (not a dating) club, which meets on the first Sunday of the month at the Tuscany Ballroom beginning at 2:15 p.m. for new member registration, followed by a general meeting at 3:00 p.m. A social gathering follows at the Long Drive Lounge prior to moving on to dinner at a nearby restaurant.
