Suzanne Butler, PebbleCreek Home Tour Committee
The morning was full of excitement at the Goodyear Police building on Dec. 7, as 25 special children waited for Santa’s arrival! Each child was assigned to a Goodyear officer and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast before the much-anticipated landing of Santa and Mrs. Claus. It was so rewarding to see the bonding and trust these children experienced on this special day and the sincere care the officers had for the children. After breakfast, each child had a one-on-one chat with Santa to let him know what was on their wish list. Santa and Mrs. Claus presented each child with a gift card to Walmart for the big shopping trip that followed. Goodyear Police took photos of every child with Santa and a print was given to the families as a remembrance of the day. It’s very possible this was the first time these children may have had a special photo with Santa.
Before everyone departed in the official motorcade, with lights and sirens going, to Walmart for shopping, the Home Tour Committee presented a check to the Shop with a Cop program in the amount of $12,005!
None of this would have been possible without the wonderful support of our PebbleCreek community. Thanks to the generous homeowners who opened their homes to be on the 23rd annual Fall Home and Garden Tour. And, a big thank you to all of the PebbleCreek residents who purchased tickets and donated to the event, and the more than 100 volunteers who were hosts and hostesses at the homes during the tour.
We will continue this tradition with the 24th annual Fall Home and Garden Tour on Nov. 5! In order to do this, we need your help in identifying homes to be featured on the tour. If you have an interest and would like more information, contact committee member Barbara Hockert at 313-550-9790 or [email protected].
The Home Tour Committee, Wally Campbell, Barbara Hockert, Charlotte Krause, and Suzanne Butler want to thank all of PebbleCreek for your support.
