Shofar blowers wanted for Jewish High Holidays

Brenda Hyman

Attention all attendees! We are actively looking for a shofar blower! Do you have strong lungs? Have you always wanted to blow your horn? Have you always wanted to usher in the New Year? Or would you just like to try? We need another shofar blower in addition to Melissa Kallett. Please contact Brenda Hyman at earthlink.net. Remember, we are only taking the first three on the list. Hurry and sign up! Now on to more news.

The Committee for the High Holidays is planning our eighth annual Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur Services. Our wonderful Rabbi David Mayer will again be conducting our services this year at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The dates and times are as follows:

Rosh Hashanah Thursday, September 21 – 10:00 a.m.

Kol Nidre Friday, September 29 – 6:00 p.m.

Yom Kippur Saturday, September 30 – 9:00 a.m.

There will be a beautiful Kiddish in the Chianti Room immediately following the Rosh Hashanah services. The price for services is $60 per adult, $18 per child (12 years old or under).

Pricing covers all three services and the Kiddish. There are no partial payments (for individual services), nor refunds. Tickets are not issued; instead a check-in roster is used.

If you are interested in having a Torah honor, an English speaking part, a Hebrew reading or ushering, please let us know. For further information please contact: Marsha Langfuss – [email protected]; or Hermine Sulzberg – [email protected].

You will be again be awed by our extraordinary Rabbi and the wonderful warmth and closeness of these services with your PebbleCreek neighbors. Let’s bring in the New Year of 5778 together.

Donations are gladly accepted for our events during the year—Chai High Lectures and dinners!

Shalom!
