The Glendale Arts Council hosted its fifty-third annual Juried Fine Arts Competition January 13 through 24 in the Fruit Packing House at Saguaro Ranch Park. PebbleCreek resident Sharon Adamy was awarded First Place in the Pastel category for her entry, Nightlife: Piazza Navona, depicting nightlife in Rome’s world famous square.

Adamy recently had three of her pastel paintings juried into Pastels Chicago 2015, a National Juried Exhibition. She received the Pastel Journal award for her painting Another’s Treasure and another painting, Market Showers, was purchased during the exhibit.

Sharon paints exclusively in pastel and has a passion for painting market and cafe scenes where her people take precedence over their environment. She has been painting in pastel for 25 years and has won numerous national and regional awards for her paintings. Prior to moving to PebbleCreek in 2010, she was awarded Signature Membership in the New Mexico Pastel Society.

Adamy instructs beginning and intermediate Pastel Workshops in the Creative Arts Center in PebbleCreek.
