Gift card wallets
Lisa Reichert
On Jan. 7, the PebbleCreek Sewing Club kicked off the new year with an informative and inspiring class taught by Sandy Crabtree. Sandy guided participants through the beautiful decorative and utility stitches available on their sewing machines, helping everyone discover features they may not have previously explored. She also shared information about online classes that can assist members in organizing and cataloging their stitches for future reference.
A class originally scheduled for Jan. 21 to make fabric baskets was postponed until February. In its place, members enjoyed a fun and practical class on creating gift card wallets. These charming wallets are easy to construct using only fabric, interfacing, thread, and a snap. They add a thoughtful, handmade touch to gift-card giving and are far more special than a simple envelope.
Upcoming February Classes
Feb. 4: The rescheduled fabric basket class will take place. These handy baskets are perfect for organizing your fabric “stash.” Not only are they practical, but they are also adorable and useful in countless ways throughout the home.
Feb. 18: The Sewing Club will focus on charity work by sewing receiving blankets for the Abrazo Hospital nursery. These blankets will be gifted to new mothers to take home with their newborns.
