Senior Tournament Was Tee-riffic

Another major tournament is a wrap! The PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) honored Super Seniors (over age 75), Seniors (ages 65-74), and let the Juniors (under age 65) join in the fun during the annual Super Senior Golf Tournament held at Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany East on Feb. 8 and 9.

The individual stroke play event identified the best of the field, where we had two sudden death playoffs. The first playoff was for overall net champion of the Super Senior division between Barb Chilton and Jane Wiederhold. Jane prevailed and was named the overall net winner with a net score of 67. The overall gross champion in the Super Senior division was Carol Dick, with a gross score of 80. The Super Senior division play was for one day only.

The second playoff was following day two in the Senior division between Barbara Patrow and Mary Harris for overall gross champion, where the pair battled out four holes until Mary won. The overall net champion was Elaine Carlson.

Following play on Feb. 9, Super Seniors were recognized for their participation in the PCLGA, and Super Senior and Senior tournament gross and net winners were each given $100 and a trophy in recognition of their awesome performance.

Other winners from the Super Senior division were:

* Flight 1: Mary Falso and Carolyn Suttles (tied for 1st place gross), Marlene O’Halloran (1st net), and Barb Economou (2nd net)

* Flight 2: Barb Chilton (1st gross), Mary Coon (2nd gross), Trish Watkins (1st net), and Arlene Engelbert and Tess Braden (tied for 2nd net)

* Flight 3: Judy Brown (1st gross), Ruth Shaffer (2nd gross) Maria Murray (1st net), and Jane Hee (2nd net)

* Flight 4: Suzan Simons (1st gross), Judi Floyd (2nd gross), Pat DeMatties (1st net), and Ruth Vohs (2nd net)

In the two-day Senior division play, the other winners were:

* Flight 1: Barbara Patrow (1st gross), Sarah Marsh (2nd gross), Kathy Enegren (1st net), and Debbie Sayre (2nd net)

* Flight 2: Jean Ostroga (1st gross), Kittie Day (2nd gross), Nancy Moore (1st net), and Kathi Curtis (2nd net)

* Flight 3: Sharma Fleming (1st gross), Layne Sheridan (2nd gross), Vera Ilsley (1st net), and Pam Volm (2nd net)

* Flight 4: Trish Wagner (1st gross), Becky Rio (2nd gross), Jayne Dinan (1st net), and Kearin Kasper (2nd net)

* Flight 5: Tricia Self (1st gross), Patty Brown (2nd gross), Chris Cook (1st net), and Mary Pat Burson (2nd net)

* Flight 6: Carol Sanders (1st gross), Carol Taylor (2nd gross), Jeannie Alvarez (1st net), and Kathy Carney (2nd net)

In the two-day Junior division, Brenda Cook was the gross winner in Flight 1, and Mary Pinksy was the net winner. In Flight 2, Sandra Rivera was the gross winner, and Esther Frehner was the net winner.
