The Rug Hookers of PebbleCreek closed out the old year with an election of officers. Except for the office of president, all officers are new to the positions they will be filling. 2017 has the Rug Hookers Club adding an additional member to the executive board in the role of vice-president. Her duties, in addition to filling in for the president in her absence, will be to serve in the role as program chairperson coordinating club social events such as the holiday gathering, wool swap and various excursions in which members participate. June Bennett is well qualified for this position as she orchestrated the PebbleCreek Hook-In last March and will be doing the same on March 4, 2017.
The photo shows the newly elected Executive Board. The membership is composed of June and Sally who are more senior members (more time in the club; not their age) and a relative newcomer in Vicki Ray. Although new to the Rug Hookers, Vicki has prior experience serving in other organizations here at PebbleCreek.
Sally Holmboe was secretary of the club a short while ago. She will be filling the role of treasurer for the group which will be a new challenge for her. Lastly, Dee-Dee Patrick transitioned into the office of president after serving as acting president for less than a year. Recently revised by-laws provide for the immediate past president to function in an advisory role to the Executive Committee as a non-voting member unless needed to break a tie vote.
The Rug Hookers are looking forward to an exciting and busy year with the group of energized and creative members we have in our club.
