The Hookers of PebbleCreek celebrated the holiday season in potluck style when they met in mid-December. Karen Bogadi was kind enough to open her home for our festivities. The entrée for this year’s celebration was soup, and five splendid tureens were served steaming hot. Accompaniments of various gourmet breads, vegetable dishes and finger foods topped off the main course. The steamy soups were especially apropos due to the rather chilly temperatures that afternoon. Of course, the fact that champagne cocktails with fresh pomegranate were also indulged in made the cooler weather a little more tolerable! Desserts were equally appealing and varied including an absolutely decadent torte that was made by our hostess. Who counts calories when it is the Christmas season?
After our extravagant luncheon, a wool exchange was held that led to giggles and coveted looks. The swatches of fabric disguised in festive and seductive wrappings and bags were quickly snatched up by members who had the option of swapping their acquisitions once the item was unwrapped. A couple of pieces traded hands more than once or twice! A good time was had by all as you can see by the group photo.
