The second annual Charity Golf Tournament and Ball Drop sponsored by the Goodyear PebbleCreek Rotary Foundation generated nearly $20,000 in proceeds for supporting local community charitable projects.
One hundred twenty-eight golfers participated in the 18-hole golf and lunch event at the Tuscany Falls Golf Club in PebbleCreek.
“We are grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, raffle prize donors and, of course, the enthusiastic golfers who participated in the event,” said Joan Smith, Rotary Club President.
A popular feature of the tournament event is the ball drop where numbered golf balls are dropped over a designated hole on the putting green from a fire department ladder truck. The 300 numbered balls were purchased by donors and this year two balls dropped into the golf hole to win; each winner earned a $1,500 prize. In addition, participating golfers and guests also took home a myriad of raffle prize gifts including iPads, golf clubs, golf bags, rounds of golf and many other products donated by local community merchants.
The major sponsors supporting the event included: Sun Health Foundation-Awards, Lunch Sponsor; Argent Solar, Golf Cart Sponsor; AAA Goodyear, La Loma Village; Pino Construction; Donna Strand/Realty One Group; Johnson Wealth Management; Window World/Phoenix; Wilhelm Automotive; Macy’s Logistics; plus 52 hole-sponsors!
We are grateful for these community partners as they too are working with us to make our community a better place to live and do business. Please support them when you are shopping.
The Rotary Club invests in a variety of local community enrichment projects including Meals of Joy, Natalie’s House, SW Lending Closet, Mutts on a Mission, Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank and student scholarships.
The Rotary Club of Goodyear PebbleCreek meets each Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. in the Chianti Room of the PebbleCreek Tuscany Falls Clubhouse.
