Formation plans are underway to launch a Rotary Club in October to serve the PebbleCreek community in the spirit of service above self.
“Ten years ago an active Rotary Club operated in PebbleCreek,” said John Spooler, a Rotarian for 20 years and the organizing force behind the new club. “But membership attrition and the establishment of other Rotary Clubs in the area prompted the club to cease operating.”
“However, over the years, PebbleCreek has grown and expanded and will one day be a community of about 10,000 residents,” said Spooler.
Plans are for a breakfast meeting club which will gather on Wednesdays at 7:00 a.m. each week in one of the PebbleCreek clubhouses.
Currently, there are 32,000 Rotary Clubs with 1.2 million members that meet around the world today. Rotary International, founded in 1905, is dedicated to serve the community with charitable donations and hands-on projects. In addition, each Rotary Club has the opportunity to participate in international projects through their Rotary District and Rotary International.
“Rotarians from other home clubs will always be welcome to participate with the PebbleCreek Club when residing in our community during the winter season,“ noted Spooler.
