The PebbleCreek Bocce Association sponsored a Rock and Roll benefit tournament for the New Life Center on Saturday, March 4.
Forty-eight ladies were randomly assigned to teams named after female rock groups. Classic rock and roll music, provided by Roger Milewski, was played throughout the event. After two rounds of play, the winners were The Crystals – Kathy Bates, Rita Erne, Pamela Scandore and Di Week. Second Place went to The Shangri-las – Joy Benton, Mary Ann Evans, Muriel Milewski and Jane Schaffer.
A total of $590 was raised for the New Life Center, which provides services for battered and abused women and their children. Thanks to all of the ladies who played and the men who refereed the tournament.
