Twelve ladies represented PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) in the Central Arizona Golf District (CAGD) golf tournament at Los Caballeros in Wickenburg, Ariz., on May 22. Judy Newell and her partner, Patty Brown, won first gross in the third flight.
Other twosomes in the tournament were Donna Havener and Kathi Curtis, Carolyn Suttles and Jane Hee, Barbara Chilton and Sharon Johnson, Linda Thompson and Carol Sanders, and Kathy Enegren and Teresa Christianson. It was a beautiful day and the course was in wonderful condition.
Because the Pro Shop and restaurant at Los Caballeros are closed for remodeling, tournament participants enjoyed lunch and shopping at the Dude Ranch following the tournament. Kathi Curtis also won money from the raffle.
CAGD is a nonprofit “mega league” in the Greater Phoenix and Central Arizona area that has more than 1,300 members made up of ladies who come from leagues throughout the metro area. They sponsor five to six tournaments per year, which are held at premier public and private courses in Arizona, where ladies compete in a two-person net best ball competition.
