Rescue of the Month: Suzie’s Success Story

Mary O’Neill

Sweet Suzie was surrendered to us when her mom became medically unable to take care of her anymore. She is just a little doll!

We were able to get Suzie into the best foster-to-adopt home, with an experienced Chihuahua owner. She is the only pet in the home, which is exactly what Suzie likes as she wants to be treated like the princess she is. She is well loved and we couldn’t be happier for her!

Suzie has been adopted by her foster mom, who has taken excellent care of her. She needed some specialized veterinary care, including some extensive dental work. Some breeds, like Chihuahuas and Maltese, are highly prone to dental problems. Most of the dogs and cats we take in need dental work, unless they are very young. Just like with people, poor dental health can lead to an infection in the blood and shorten the life of your pet, as well as causing them pain. We strongly encourage all pet owners to work with your veterinarian on cleaning your pet’s teeth unless your pet is elderly and your vet does not recommend anesthesia.

As always, your tax-deductible donations to our club are vital. We need those donations to pay the veterinarian bills for our rescued cats and dogs. You can send us a donation through Zelle at pcpetcompanions@gmail.com, or send us a check by mail to The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek, PO Box 6106, Goodyear, AZ, 85338-0619.
