On Dec. 2, the Republican Club gathered around the Christmas and Hanukkah décor set up in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom to begin the season’s holiday festivities.
Following the installation of the club’s 2022 officers, President Harrison introduced some of the 2022 candidates in attendance for Goodyear, Maricopa County, and the state of Arizona, who joined the club’s holiday festivities.
Members and candidates mingled while enjoying holiday spirits (special, holiday-design drinks), munched on delectable hors d’oeuvres, and talked, talked, talked politics and love for our country.
Background music, played by member Dan Krause on the keyboard, echoed throughout the hall. Before the evening ended, member Lisa Lombardy added to the night’s holiday spirit by singing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
President Harrison also welcomed Sharon Kozak, Comprehensive Support Council (CSC) president. Throughout the year, club members have gathered extra food items for the young airmen and their families and organized a famous diaper drive for the young military mothers or families in need. Have you seen the price of those diapers nowadays?
Still recovering from the effects of the hectic pandemic frenzy, this year’s holiday gift collection for the CSC focused on the entire family, and PebbleCreek Republican Club members donated store gift cards.
“Today, household ‘honey-do lists’ go untouched, splurging on take-out is a thing of the past, and finding money and time to reconnect as a family is unheard of for some folks,” Sharon explained.
With gift cards in hand, can you imagine what a shopping trip to Lowe’s for a couple of gallons of paint, Target for new bath and bedding, or a family-gathered meal at an Olive Garden can do for these unique families? The club was honored to donate $4,500 in gift cards during the holiday season.
Our gatherings begin with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance and end with, “God Bless all of you… God Bless America… and remember to fly your flag!”
