The PebbleCreek Republican Club welcomed members back for an energetic start to the fall season at its September meeting, featuring three Arizona Republican leaders, important election updates, recognition of local veterans, and a look ahead at a busy calendar of club activities.
The evening gave members an opportunity to hear firsthand about issues shaping Arizona while also highlighting the many ways club members can stay informed, involved, and connected in the months ahead.
September Meeting Welcomes Arizona Republican Leaders
Featured speaker Sergio Arellano, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, addressed voter registration, grassroots outreach, and efforts to increase Republican participation throughout Arizona. He spoke about the importance of building a strong organization from the local level up and emphasized the role individual voters and volunteers can play in close elections.
Arellano also stressed the importance of party unity and staying focused as November approaches, reminding members that elections can be decided by very small margins and that every conversation, volunteer effort, and vote can make a difference.
Arizona Speaker of the House Steve Montenegro followed with an update on issues facing the state and Republican legislative priorities. His remarks touched on economic policy, public safety, education, and individual rights, giving members insight into discussions taking place at the Arizona Legislature.
Montenegro encouraged Republicans to communicate not only what they oppose, but also the principles, ideas, and policies they support and the vision they hope to advance for Arizona.
The evening’s final speaker, Dr. Ralph Heap, Republican candidate for the Arizona Corporation Commission, turned the discussion toward an issue affecting nearly every Arizona household—energy.
Heap discussed energy affordability and reliability, including utility rates, solar energy, nuclear power, and the rapidly growing energy demands associated with data centers. He also discussed the important role of the Arizona Corporation Commission in utility regulation and issues affecting Arizona ratepayers.
Together, the three speakers provided members with a wide-ranging look at political, legislative, and energy issues affecting Arizona.
Voter Outreach
With the November election approaching, voter outreach was another important focus of the meeting.
Club volunteers are preparing to distribute Republican voter guides, commonly known as
“Golden Tickets,” throughout PebbleCreek. The effort is designed to help voters become familiar with candidates and election information before ballots are cast.
Members interested in helping with voter outreach and Golden Ticket distribution are encouraged to get involved.
The club also announced that nominations are now open for President and Treasurer, with those elected serving two-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2027.
Honor Flight Recognition
One of the evening’s special moments was the recognition of this year’s Honor Flight recipients, Mike Barrett and David Hand.
Continuing the club’s longstanding support of veterans, members recognized the two men for their service and upcoming participation in the Honor Flight program. They will travel to Washington, D.C., to tour the city, focusing on the military monuments honoring those who served our country.
The recognition was a meaningful reminder of the sacrifice of our veterans and the importance of continuing to honor their service.
Remember to fly your flag!
