The PebbleCreek Republican Club welcomed a large turnout of members and invited guests to the Thursday, March 3 meeting in the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse Ballroom. It started with a 6:30 p.m. Social Time when everyone mingled and chatted before the 7:00 p.m. Business Meeting.

Following the meeting we had one of our most popular programs: Round Table discussions held at nine round tables with many of the upcoming candidates. The format was for each of the candidates to speak and answer questions at one table for about 10 minutes and then move on to another table while members stayed put and awaited the next speaker. The discussions were lively and included many questions which were answered well by all the candidates and kept timely by a table monitor.

Among the discussion attendees were Don Shooter – LD-13 Arizona State Senator for House of Representatives; Darin Mitchell – LD-13 for re-elect to House of Representatives; Steve Montenegro – LD-13 Arizona House of Representatives for Arizona Senate and Anthony Gier – for LD-13 Arizona State Senator. Others are Clint Hickman for re-election District 4 County Board of Supervisors, Al Melvin for Arizona Corporation Commissioner, William “Bill” Montgomery for re-election as Maricopa County Attorney and Royce Flora running for Maricopa County Treasurer.

It was a most informative evening and one that could have gone on into the wee hours. However, the candidates did stay to meet with many of the members and answered more questions on a one-to-one basis following the meeting.

The PebbleCreek Republican Planning Committee met March 7 to work on long-range programs and travel options. The Committee, chaired by President Linda Migliore, includes Bari Cavallo, Vice President Tom MacKenzie, Jeffrey Fischer, Jim Neidhart and PR Chair Liz Gibson.

We are looking forward to our popular annual picnic Thursday, April 7 in the Chianti Room with featured guest speaker Trent Franks, U.S. Representative for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.
