The PebbleCreek Republican Club welcomed members and invited guests to the December 7 meeting in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The 6:30 Social Hour was followed by the 7:00 p.m. meeting. The annual Christmas tree in the ballroom was filled with paper ornaments containing gift requests for needy families. This year’s recipients are Luke Air Force Base and Child Protective Services. Everyone was encouraged to take one or several ornaments and fulfill the requests to make the holidays brighter for these families.
During the business meeting President Linda Migliore was pleased to announce the Executive Board for 2018: Jonathan Schofield, president; Cristina Jung, vice-president; Roy Azzarello, secretary and Karen Rubsan, treasurer.
Following the business meeting the PCRC was very honored and pleased to welcome Thomas P. Morrissey, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party since January 2011, as the speaker. Prior to his election as Arizona’s top party official, Mr. Morrissey had had a remarkable career in music, film production, law enforcement, the martial arts and political activism. He has written a book with Steven Segal, the actor who was also a former U.S. Marshall. It is a fictional story called The Way of the Shadow Wolves.
During his 20 years as a Deputy U.S. Marshal, he rose to the rank of Chief Deputy for the Federal District of Arizona. He was appointed Chief of the Office of Special Investigations and Internal Security for Arizona’s Department of Economic Security for 11 years and has served as precinct committeeman, Chairman of Legislative District 20 and has been a tireless fundraiser for many years, to name a few of his accomplishments.
Following the presentation there was a very active Q & A session, always a popular part of the programs.
The evening was both holiday festive and very informative – a perfect blend.
