It seems a long way off, but if you’re a candidate running for office, the 2022 Arizona elections (Primary Aug. 2 and General Nov. 8) will be here before you know it!

Being voted Arizona’s Best Republican Club means our club is top priority for candidates to visit who want to meet serious-minded voters. The fourth Meet the Candidates gathering on Oct. 16 was held in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. This event included Tiffany Shedd, candidate for attorney general, and Kari Lake, candidate for governor. The fifth Meet the Candidates was held on Nov. 20 in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom with gubernatorial candidate Steve Gaynor and U.S. Senate candidate Jim Lamon.

By limiting sessions to only two speakers at each meeting, candidates were given 20 minutes to introduce themselves and present their background, ideas, and goals. Then, lots of questions were submitted by the moderator and the audience, followed by great mingling with the members, taxpayers, and voters. Of course, each candidate encouraged folks to explore their informative websites. Candidate visits will continue into 2022.

For folks trying to make some sense of the world’s happenings internationally and domestically, Dr. Nick Damask, political science professor from Scottsdale Community College, invited members back to school on Wednesday evenings in PebbleCreek during October and November. He concluded his five-week fall lecture series, delving deeply into timely political topics.

For an up-to-date schedule and more specific details, be sure to explore the club’s website at PebbleCreekRepublicanClub.com. Meetings are open to members and guests. If you’re interested in attending as a guest, simply email Camille Grabb at [email protected].

Don’t forget—keep those Stars and Stripes flying throughout our beautiful community!
