While PebbleCreek’s clubhouses and gathering venues have been closed, the PebbleCreek (PC) Republican Club has continued to stay connected through technology. Many club members quickly became tech savvy with online meeting applications, including Zoom. Zoom has allowed members to stay up-to-date on current events and discuss important issues.
On May 12, the PebbleCreek Republican Club hosted a Zoom meeting with United States Senator Martha McSally. Senator McSally provided information and an update on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including health and economic actions. She focused on the efforts of the COVID-19 Taskforce to send medical equipment to hospitals in hot spots, provide guidance about how to protect against the virus, and how the Taskforce is working with state governors to flatten the curve. Senator McSally spoke at length about legislation that provides stimulus checks to individuals and loans to businesses to help weather through the shutdown.
Members of the PebbleCreek Republican Club also asked our Senator questions about national and local issues. Senator McSally and officials are planning virtual meetings with our club as this has proven to be a great way to stay connected.
The PebbleCreek Republican Club provides an environment for Republican fellowship and discussion, and to serve as an educational forum for Republican ideas and principles. Our meetings are temporarily on hold. When PC facilities are re-opened, meetings will be held on the first Thursday of the month, in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom, and guests are welcomed.
