No one was more surprised than Regina Mamer when she got the call informing her she won the 2024 opportunity quilt. As a quilter herself, she knew the time and effort that went into making this incredible quilt. Regina plans to pay it forward by taking it back to Illinois and giving it to her mother’s favorite live-in caregiver. Regina said, “I’m sure she will cherish it, as Ruth is also a very generous person who gives generously to charities back in Ghana when she visits and treats my mother with the utmost respect and consideration each and every day.”
