The PebbleCreek Line Dance Club is ready to kick off its 22nd season. All good clubs strive to improve. The Line Dance Club is no exception. This year we are changing our schedule with the goal of making our classes better and more accommodating for the residents.
The Monday Beginners Class from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. will remain the same. This class is for the true beginners and will reflect basic instruction with the emphasis on repeat, repeat and repeat. This is a great way for those not sure if line dancing is for them to come out and give it a try. Even those with two left feet have been amazed at what they can learn. This class will be followed by an Intermediate Class that will run from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. This class is aimed toward those who have completed Beginners and are looking for additional dances and dance time. As the year progresses, it is a good possibility that some in the Beginners Class will stay for part or all of the Intermediate Class.
The Beginners Class for Tuesday night has been eliminated. In its place we will have Open Dancing to be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Open Dancing session will start out with intermediate dances to be followed later by some advanced dances. Who can forget Pontoon from last season? We all struggled but when it finally stuck with us we actually enjoyed it. What new dances will our instructor have for us this year? You will have to show up to find out.
This season will also reflect changes to our teaching staff. Sharon Scheffer (623-536-7466) will become the primary instructor for all the classes. Shirley Jacobs (623-536-6049) will be available to fill in if Sharon is absent. Shirley remains as the club secretary/treasurer and Beverly Bonich (623-536-1395) remains as the club president.
Classes will start on October 27 and run through April 28, 2015. All classes will be held in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. We look forward to meeting new friends and visiting with our old ones (no pun intended). Also remember that there has never been, nor will there be, a charge for these classes.
If you have any questions regarding these classes please feel free to contact Beverly, Shirley or Sharon.
