The PebbleCreek Model Railroad Club hosted one of its traditional Open House events on Easter Sunday, April 20. Over 120 residents, family members and guests came to see the railroad, many dressed in their Easter finest. Thanks to all who spent some of their holiday with us!

The recently enhanced garden layout was the hit of the day. Trains operated on two loops, traveling through realistic sized landscape and past numerous newly added buildings. And the indoor layout is always popular too, with diesel and steam trains of the Great Lakes Western Railroad visiting a number of towns in Chicago and Midwest area set in the early 1960s.

The club operates through the summer; we are at the layout in Room 106 of the Eagle’s Nest Activity Center every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until about 12:00 noon. On two of those days we run multiple trains all morning, emulating real railroad operations and recently held a Saturday session for model railroad enthusiasts from around Arizona. Please come and spend some time with us.

Folks have also been attending our Fun Run Days when you can come in and operate the trains yourself! The next date will be on Wednesday, June 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. We love to show residents, family and friends how to enjoy model railroading. Learn all about us online at www.pcmrc.org.
