The PebbleCreek Quilters celebrated the season and recognized the many accomplishments of 2016 with a Holiday Luncheon December 11 in the Tuscany Ballroom.
The highlight of the event was the drawing of the winner of the 2016 Opportunity Quilt raffle. The quilt was designed by Karen Bogadi, pieced by numerous persona and quilted by Barbara Mauer, all members of the PebbleCreek Quilters Guild. Among the hundreds of tickets sold for the raffle, Jane Bacon of the PebbleCreek community was drawn (pictured above). The proceeds from the Opportunity Quilt Raffle provide funding for supplies for the over 300 quilts and other sewn projects that are given to selected charities such as Hospice of the Valley, West Valley Hospital and New Life Center.
Board members from 2016 were recognized and new officers/board members for 2017 were introduced. Retiring President Linda Labenz was honored for her many hours and initiatives for the past two years. The organization of PebbleCreek Quilters is made up of over 140 persons of the PebbleCreek community that pursue the art of quilting and focus on sharing their talents with their many community service projects. The organization also provides new learning experiences that enhance skills and the art of creation in hand and machine sewing for its members.
