PebbleCreek Art Club enjoyed a trip to the Bronzesmith Foundry of Fine Art.

On Thursday, October 18 twenty-five members and friends from the PebbleCreek Art Club formed a caravan of cars and headed north to Prescott for a unique day of artistic inspiration! The group’s destination was the Bronzesmith Foundry of Fine Art.

Outside, the building’s sculpture courtyard showcased many larger-than-life bronze creations including Western themes, fountains, animals, as well as abstract creations and this was before everyone even walked through the front doors!

Inside, led by a tour guide who patiently explained the various processes, everyone walked through the window-lined hallway and peered through the glass to watch the various craftsmen at work go through the step-by-step techniques to interpret the artist’s final vision.

A highlight of the tour (Thursdays only) was the chance to watch several skilled (and brave) workers dressed in special heat-protective clothes pour liquid bronze into molds and everyone could really feel the heat!

The foundry included two galleries of fine art pieces available for purchase as well as a marketplace online.

Inspired, the group didn’t leave Prescott without enjoying a delicious lunch and friendly camaraderie at the famous historical Palace Restaurant at the Courthouse Square.
