The Pottery/Sculpture Club featured artist for November is Ken Duvall. Ken has been a member of the club for two years. He hails from California via Georgia and has lived in PC for three and a half years. Among other PC activities, Ken also shares in a monthly breakfast with fellow retired law enforcement officers.
After retiring from law enforcement, Ken began a second career as a board certified environmental hygienist. What’s that, you ask? Ken did investigations in homes and offices to determine what was making people sick in their indoor environment. Ken consulted, and still does, in legal matters involving indoor environmental issues.
Ken’s specialty has been making little jack-o’-lantern sculptures. He got the idea for them from a shop he visited on a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine. Every one of Ken’s jack-o’-lantern sculptures has a unique facial expression and personality. Originally Ken intended to sell these pieces, but he so enjoyed seeing their smiling face, he decided to keep them.
Ken’s jack-o’-lanterns and other clay projects will be on view in the display window outside the pottery room in the Creative Arts Center throughout the month of November. While at the CAC, be sure to drop in to the Expressions Gallery to see the beautiful artwork for sale created by PebbleCreek residents.
