Affectionately known around the Pottery/Sculpture Club as the birds, balls and bowls lady, the Pottery Club featured artist for April is the Canadian born and recently naturalized US citizen, Ane Aune.
Ane said after retiring and an extensive search for “an artsy and golfing community that would serve both hubby and me,” they found PebbleCreek and the Creative Arts Center, and they were sold.
After taking the Handmade Pottery Class she knew she wanted more.
Ane says, “I love the tactile, creative, dimensional medium that it is.”
After she makes each piece Ane hopes, “the pottery gods will allow the piece to flourish from drying, bisque firing, and glazing firing to OMG, I love it, or what did I learn from it?
Ane says, “For me, pottery is also a social experience, and I have met some great gals and guys and it continues. Life is good when I can play lovingly in the mud with friends and create some interesting pieces I didn’t know I was capable of. I look forward to meeting, playing with and creating with all of the pottery and sculpture artists.”
“I love playing in the mud!”
All are welcome to view Ane’s artwork in the display cases outside of the Gecko Room in the Creative Arts Center.
