The Italian American Club’s Poinsettia Ball is a sell-out premiere event in PebbleCreek and this past year’s ball on Dec. 6, 2024, was over the top. The theme was Christmas Nutcrackers. Ladies and gentlemen in black tie and cocktail-formal attire were treated to delicious food, first with appetizers in the Chianti room, which featured a crooning gentleman singer, and then in the ballroom for a served surf and turf dinner, accompanied with all the trimmings. Dancing ensued with surprise visits from Elvis, Neil Diamond, and Aretha Franklin. Shelly Carnevale and her committee outdid themselves this year with formal tables decorated with centerpieces of tall nutcrackers and sparkling wreaths. Each attendee received a nutcracker for their Christmas tree as a favor. Those attending had their photos taken in front of an impressive Christmas display. Dancing Christmas lights shone on the walls lighting up Nutcrackers lined up along the walls of the ballroom. It was a beautiful beginning to Happy New Year 2025.
