On Saturday, November 5 the Picklegals wore their pajamas while playing pickleball and brought pairs of children’s pajamas to raise attention for the Pajama Program, an organization that provides comfort and love in the way of new pajamas and books to children in need as they are entering foster homes or shelters. Many of the children have been abused or abandoned and have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in with a story at bedtime. Snuggling up in new, warm pajamas with their very own book gives lonely children a secure and nurturing bedtime environment. Picklegals collected 34 pairs of pajamas on Pajama Saturday and then Unit 51 continued collecting for another month for a total of 66 pairs of pajamas and books donated to the Pajama Program in December. Great job, everyone! How wonderful to know we have touched the lives of these kids!
