Everyone is aware that pickleball is a fantastic favorite activity in PebbleCreek. But, did you know that many pickleballers are also Spring Training baseball fans?

On March 3 there were 20 pickleball couples (and a few added family members) attending the Cleveland Guardians vs. San Francisco Giants baseball game, and all 49 of us occupied the third level Terrace Section overlooking third base at Goodyear Ballpark.

We enjoyed the beautiful sunny 73 degree weather, extensive delicious food buffet, and the excellent viewing of a well-played, exciting game. A ninth inning solo home run by Ismael Munguia (who?) won the game for the Giants with a final score of 6-5, much to the dismay of Spike Razem who lost a $1 wager to Dave Bigelow…ugh.

But, our pickleball group truly managed to enjoy this event. We surprised Dave’s wife, Tina Wang, with a cake and singing “Happy Birthday” to celebrate her BIG SIX OH! Also, when the centerfield scoreboard acknowledged our group during the sixth inning, there was a round of loud cheering from the Terrace Section—hooray!

Fun times continue with the Pickleballers of PebbleCreek!
