Pet of the Month: My Name Is Zeke!

Zeke loves his new home and family in PebbleCreek.

I am a 7-year-old puggle (half pug, half beagle) who came to live in PebbleCreek after my owner passed away. My grandma wanted to find me a new home where I could be active and live my best life. Loving me so much and wanting what was best for me, Grandma let me come to live here in PebbleCreek.

I arrived here on March 17, 2022, from St George, Utah. My new mom and dad, Marie and Charles Rausa, love me very much. They were familiar with my breed as they had raised two other puggles. They had also fostered other puggles. I really love it here. I am such a good boy—quiet, loving, and well-behaved. I love going places with my humans.

I love everyone I meet, both human and four-legged. I learn new things quickly. I had a few pounds to lose when I first arrived, but now I am a healthy weight and keep active. Stop and say “Hi” if you see me. I love to make new friends.

I never got to meet my parents’ first puggle, Buster. He had gone to heaven before I arrived. I hear I have big shoes to fill as he was such a character. I did get to spend my first two months here with Marley. She accepted me right away, made me feel at home, and helped me adjust to my new surroundings. I knew she was special and, when I went for long walks, Mom brought Marley along in her stroller. When it was time for her to be in heaven with Buster, my new mom and dad were so sad. They say I have helped heal their hearts. I guess we needed each other.

Always give a rescue animal a second chance. They will thank you daily with unconditional love.
