Pet of the Month: Hi, My Name Is Remington!

Hi, my name is Remington! I’m an Australian Labradoodle and I’m 5 years old. Nine years ago, my mom met a woman at the PebbleCreek dog park. She noticed how much my mom loved me and how we worked together while we played. The woman asked, “So, what do you do with your dog?” My mom didn’t know what that meant at the time.

Well, now we do! Today, Mom (Kathleen Molony) and I are a registered dog therapy team with Mutts on A Mission, Inc. We volunteer at the City of Hope. I make patients smile on sometimes the hardest days of their lives. I get lots of hugs and kisses. Who wouldn’t like that job? I also get to help kids with their reading at the Barbara B. Roby School and Rancho Santa Fe in the R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program. I love snuggling up to listen while the kids read to me—it’s one of my favorite things.

What started as a simple question at the dog park turned into an amazing journey. Now I get to spread love, comfort, and encouragement everywhere I go!
