The Big Dogs know how to fill a dance floor! PebbleCreek’s newest party/dance band is back to perform at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Their show in November produced a huge crowd and a full dance floor. The eight-piece group plays your favorite music from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, featuring the sounds of Motown, R&B, pop, soul, disco, and dance tunes originally recorded by groups such as the Temptations; Chicago; Kool & the Gang; Earth, Wind & Fire; Boz Scaggs; Average White Band; Bob Seager; Van Morrison; Wilson Pickett, and others. They’re also known to dig back and pull up a ’50s song or two, like something from Jerry Lee Lewis.
The Big Dogs horn section consists of Mike Perkins, Jeff Buda, and Teddi English, paired with the rhythm section of Doug Harris on drums, Jim Ledford on bass, Kim Ballew on rhythm guitar, Brian Wentz on lead guitar and vocals, and Bob Wikstrom on keyboards and vocals. “Our goal is to provide fun, recognizable dance tunes for our friends and neighbors here in PebbleCreek,” says co-founder Wikstrom. “We try to pick songs that get folks tappin’ their feet, poundin’ the table, snappin’ their fingers, and say ‘I just gotta dance.’ They’re favorites that most everyone will be singing along with.”
The Feb. 28 show and dance begins at 6 p.m. in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The door and bar open at 5:30 p.m. So … get your groove on and plan for fun. There’s a $5 cover charge at the door.
