PebbleCreek wins gold and bronze in Arizona Senior Bocce Ball Olympics

PebbleCreek’s Bocce Ball delegation made an impressive showing in the recent 2015 Arizona Senior Olympics, winning a total of five Gold and four Bronze medals, seven first place Blue Ribbons, 11 second place Red Ribbons and eight third place White Ribbons. Over 100 teams of 224 Bocce enthusiasts competed in four categories – Men, Women, Co-Ed and Singles – during the annual event held February 17 to 19 at the Bocce Complex in Sun City.

Roger Milewski, a resident of PebbleCreek who serves as the 2015 Arizona Senior Olympics Sports Commissioner for Bocce Ball, announced that the PC Men’s Team, The Aristocrats, consisting of Ray Dubois, Walter Hohlstein, Joe Naworski and Keith Charlesworth, won top honors by outplaying 15 other teams to capture their Gold Medals.

PebbleCreek’s other Gold Medal winner was Muriel Milewski, a member of the Co-Ed Fun Team, that also included three other players from Sun City.

Bringing home the Bronze was the all PebbleCreek Co-Ed team Perfect Match made up of Ray Dubois, Toni Brazil, Keith Charlesworth and Monika Charlesworth.

In another significant accomplishment, PebbleCreek sent five of the 15 (33 percent) finalists to the Gold Medal Round in the Singles events. The finalists were Dan Zeh, Stanley Ashby, Joseph Naworski, Muriel Milewski and Walter Hohlstein.

Red Ribbon winners for all categories: Loyd Smith, Dave Ruedlin, Stan Ashby, Gerald Oakes, Jeffery Young, Dan Zeh, Cheryl Kasselmann, Faye Ralph, Patty Hodge, Joan Higgins and Keith Charlesworth.

White Ribbon Winners for all categories: Toni Brazil, Marjorie Scherer, Ruth Shaffer, Monika Charlesworth, Sue Tearpak, Ardys Smith, Beverly Loding and Barbara Arnold.
