PebbleCreek Voices: Connecting Our Community Through Personal Stories

We have two interviews this month. This article begins with Linda Wolverton’s information and then with Bill Matteucci’s.

Linda Wolverton—A Resilient, Adventurous Path from Pennsylvania to PebbleCreek

Linda’s journey traverses several states before she settled in PebbleCreek. Linda was raised by a principled and hardworking mother after the loss of her father. When college wasn’t an option, Linda embarked on a fascinating career path from EEG technician, medical records, peer review, to becoming a national medical compliance expert.

But wait, there’s more! During the interview, you will learn about Linda and Phillip’s incredible courtship. It’s one of the most unique dating days you’ve ever heard. After settling in PebbleCreek and celebrating 32 years together, Phillip died, leaving Linda to transform her personal grief into a powerful force for good. She joined the Luke Chapter of Military Officers Association of America and immediately began making a significant impact. Today, she, along with a small team, provides crucial assistance to vulnerable individuals coping with loss.

We’re honored to share Linda’s inspiring story with our PebbleCreek community. Her resilience, adventurous spirit, and dedication to serving others truly exemplify what makes our neighborhood so special.

Bill Matteucci—A Successful, Patriotic Journey from Montana to PebbleCreek

Bill Matteucci was raised in Montana. After serving in the Navy and earning his college degree, he joined the family’s grocery and drug store business his grandfather had established in the 1890s. Under his leadership, the company’s grocery and drug stores spread across Montana and into neighboring states.

Bill and his wife, Sandee, and Sandee’s sister, Patti Rice, became inseparable teammates after Patti lost her husband, Mike, to cancer several years ago. After a few visits to PebbleCreek, the tight-knit trio decided to retire here.

Bill believes the American flag is a powerful symbol of respect for our country. This belief sparked an idea, Flags Flying Across America, a simple project that blossomed into a community-wide movement. Bill has installed over 550 U.S. flags in PebbleCreek.

PebbleCreek’s residents embraced Bill’s cause and have donated over $18,000 for Tunnel to Towers (T2T.org), helping to pay off mortgages and cover medical costs for first responders. Bill’s goal is to end 2024 with 600 flags installed and $20,000 donated to T2T.

To become part of Bill’s All-American project, email [email protected].

Thank you, Linda and Bill. PebbleCreek salutes you!
