PebbleCreek Ukulele Club to Play at Glendale Folk Festival

Looking for something to do the first weekend in March? Come on down to the Glendale Folk Festival and hear the PebbleCreek Ukulele Club perform along with a host of other artists playing a variety of music. There will be folk, Hawaiian, jazz, bluegrass, and many other genres of music with several stages playing at the same time.

The PebbleCreek Ukulele Club will perform for the fourth time at the festival. We play Hawaiian and Island music as well as familiar standards and encourage our audience to join in and sing. We always have a great time, and the audiences are most appreciative.

The annual Glendale Folk and Heritage Festival is a celebration of folk music, its history and culture. Held every spring, it aims to foster an appreciation of traditional Arizona music and culture through performances and workshops. Drawing from a rich heritage of ranching, railroading, and mining, the Folk and Heritage Festival allows attendees to experience the diversity of the Southwest.

The festival takes place at the city’s beautiful Historic Sahuaro Ranch, located at 9802 N. 59th Ave., and at Glendale Main Public Library, 5959 W. Brown St. The free event features folk and bluegrass music performed by more than 400 musicians, live cowboy poetry and authentic storytelling, with five stages of music throughout both Saturday and Sunday. In addition, three workshop areas will invite attendees to learn to play spoons, saws, ukuleles, harmonicas, swing guitar, penny whistle, jug band, skiffle music, autoharps, and more!

The Festival 2024 takes place on Saturday and Sunday March 2 and 3. It is free and makes a fun day out in our beautiful Arizona spring weather. And … there are peacocks!

The PebbleCreek Ukulele Club meets every Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Palm Room at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse. Everyone is welcome. Whether you are a seasoned player, a newbie or just want to listen, we would love to see you there.
