On a beautiful fall day, the PebbleCreek Stingers tennis team caravanned to Dottie Kiley’s home for a visit. This moment has been a long time coming due to setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dottie Kiley is the captain of the Stingers tennis team. This is not an easy job, since it requires organizing a group of ladies for practices and matches in the West Valley Women’s Tennis League. This 50+ age league has been in existence for over 25 years consisting of active adult communities in the West Valley.
With the help of Susan Hunt of the Stingers tennis team, resident Charlie Hunt was commissioned to design a slate rock to present to Dottie in honor of her dedication and hard work. The artwork depicted many of the special things in Dottie’s life, which included a tennis court, tennis racket, her dog Oreo, a bee (the Stingers mascot), hummingbird, cowgirl boot (line dancing), palm tree, the beach, and a sign “The Hive.” The rock was personalized with the signatures of all the team members.
The Stingers thank captain Dottie and co-captain Karen Lodico for their time and commitment to the team The Hive.
