Cinco de Mayo is more widely celebrated in parts of the United States than in Mexico. PCTC held their annual Cinco de Mayo social on May 5 at the Eagle’s Nest tennis hut and it was well-attended with 86 members participating! The patio was decorated with a Cinco de Mayo theme—bright colors, piñatas and balloons! Dennis and Norma Whitley tended bar with temperatures ranging over 100 degrees offering ice-cold margaritas, Mexican beer, wine, soda and water for all! Upon receiving their preferred beverage, members were checked in by Diane Bostock and Roxie Forrest and received their raffle ticket! Jill Santy (our chef for the evening) and her kitchen crew consisting of members from the Roadrunners’ served up a savory buffet of build your own tacos with tasty cookies for dessert. The band JCR Trio starring our very own John Flynn, Carl Halladay, and Robert Hoover played to our enjoyment under the lights and stars. A big thank you to the Roadrunners for helping with set up and serving! Raffle tickets were drawn with winners receiving their choice of a bottle of wine accompanied by two PCTC glasses or a gift card from Robson to be used at any of our dining establishments or the Expressions Gallery.
